Q: Our wedding expenses have gotten way out of control, and we are looking for ways to save some money. We are thinking of either making our own wedding invitations or cutting out the open bar. What do you think is less important?

A: Invitations are very important. They are the first impression your guests will get of your wedding. They set the mood for theme, formality, etc. Depending on how experienced you are in the DIY department, you could do just fine, but why cause yourself all that extra stress?
Open bar is a luxury. Many couples are opting for the open bar just during the cocktail hour or having a beer/wine bar. To spice things up, you could also create a signature drink that ties into your wedding theme.

 

Q: My fiancé and I are sick of the same old cookie cutter wedding favors. Any ideas for unique favors to "wow" our guests?

A: You have quite a few options for some great wedding favors. How about having a candy buffet? You could use cute take-out containers, and the guests can fill them up to take home. Another option would be to have useful favors - bookmarks, flower seeds, and gourmet coffee beans are appreciated by all!
